Resveratrol Antioxidants and Weight Loss: A Good Pairing?

August 11th, 2009 admin Posted in Diet | No Comments »

Studies have shown that part of America’s war with weight lies in the uniquely modern American combination of stressful lifestyle and fast-food consumption, and that the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle seem to be more conducive to healthier weight levels and longevity. In fact, much as been made on the news in recent months of the purported “French Paradox,” (how the French eat a high-fat diet, enjoy rich desserts, drink wine and still have better cardiovascular health than the rest of us).

One of the biggest differences between the American and French diet seems to be the wine consumption, and red wine (a staple on most Mediterranean tables) contains one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants, resveratrol, which is a key ingredient in Resveretrol Select.In addition to wine, resveratrol is also found in grape skins, blueberries, cranberries and other plants, and recent animal and in vitro studies indicate that it can have a positive effect on helping to maintain healthy cholesterol levels, supporting insulin health and optimizing metabolic and immune pathways that protect cells and improve mitochondrial function.

* And one capsule of Resveratrol Select includes as much resveratrol as 200 glasses of wine-without the added calories that alcohol can add to the waistline.

But consuming resveratrol alone isn’t enough to help with weight loss-so the manufacturers of Resveratrol Select also added a different type of antioxidant, Green Tea Extract (EGCG), which could make a big difference.

Over time, green tea consumption helps increase metabolism, burn fat and reduce fat storage due to its caffeine and L-theanin content, which can be pivotal in helping to maintain energy for exercise. *Resveratrol Select combines these two powerful antioxidants with yet another energy boosting ingredient, Chromium, a niacin-based mineral that plays an important role in how the body uses insulin to burn sugars, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins for energy.

Can Resveratrol help me lose weight?

July 31st, 2009 admin Posted in diet plan | No Comments »

Is it safe for me to give Resveratrol to my pets?
Yes, your furry friends don’t have to be left out either. It is safe for mice, cats, dogs, fish and moose to use Resveratrol. In fact, many of these animals have been used as test subjects to determine the effects on humans.

What dosage should I take?
The recommended dosage of Trans-Resveratrol is 100 mg to 500 mg a day. Some studies however, have suggested that the higher the dose the better.

Can Resveratrol help me lose weight?
Resveratrol’s energy boosting ability gives you the power to push your work out harder and in addition gives a small boost to metabolism. Resveratrol will help you burn extra fat during your work out.

Does red wine have enough Resveratrol to give me the same health benefits?
To get the same benefits from taking high quality Resveratrol supplements, you would have to drink hundreds of bottles of wine on a daily basis. I do not recommend this as it might kill you or at least lead to a very bad hang over.

Why should I take organic Resveratrol?
Dangers in the environment trigger Resveratrol making plants, like grapes, to create the Resveratrol as a protective system. Grapes that aren’t organic use chemicals and pesticides to keep danger away and this means that they don’t have the same incentive to develop Resveratrol. This means that organic grapes produce large amounts of more potent Resveratrol and Trans-Resveratrol.
I hope this has answered some of the more common questions you may have, if not feel free to contact me for more information.

The secret of celebrity for losing weight

July 28th, 2009 admin Posted in Weight Loss Tips | No Comments »

Many celebrities have adorable bodies and it seems that they don’t have any weight problems. But in most cases, they stick to very strict diets and very vigorous fitness plans. There is absolutely no difference between celebrity weight loss and normal people weight loss. Celebrities are tempted by sweeties and fast food as any other people and they have to fight the pounds like anybody else with fitness plans, fresh fruits and food supplements.

Some of the most widely used food supplements worldwide are the weight loss pills. They are used on a daily basis, mostly before main meals. Two important classes of the pills have been established over the last years. There are pills that bind the fat of the food so it can not be adsorbed by the body. Other pills infect the sensation of hunger. Both type of pills have to be taken approximately one hour before meal.

The positive effect of weight loss pills on your health can be supported by intense sports activities. If you read the news carefully, you will find out that the celebrity weight loss is always said to be a result of a strict diet and a fitness plan. In most cases, the diet plan must include some food supplements, otherwise that impressive results in a short time are hardly achievable.

Losing Weight Training To Help You Health

July 26th, 2009 admin Posted in Lose Weight Daily | No Comments »

Exercise:

I only did two of my TT workouts this week and one of my interval workouts, although the interval workout was my new workout C – trying to extend the time I spend jogging and reduce the time I spend in walking recovery. I ran 8 of my 20 minutes. My longest ever, even if it was only at 7kph!

I played badminton with hubby, although I had to get out of bed to go do it; did at least 60 mins of advanced pilates (if you’ve never tried it, you wouldn’t believe it – the human body is just not intended to do those things!!); did a bhangra dance workout, a little Wii Fit, and over an hour of walking. All in all, a total of 5 hours 20 mins of exercise this week.

Nutrition:

Hit most of my nutrition goals with the exception, yet again, of water and vitamin E intake.

Av cals: 1891 (up a little this week – mainly due to that chicken pasanda)
Av deficit: 520 (range -750 to +600)
Macronutrients: 24% Fat, 20% Protein, 56% carbs, 1% alcohol
Micronutrients: Over 100% of everything except Vitamin E – only 71% again, despite really working on this one.

Lifestyle

Much better here. I went to bed by midnight FIVE TIMES this week, but didn’t do any meditation.

Body:

And yet another milestone this week – I am now down a size to a UK 18. I will be having a wardrobe purge this weekend. I never intend to be a size 20 again. Ever.

Here’s the rest of it.

* Weight: 14 stone 5.6 (201.6 lbs, 91.6kg). Up 0.8 lbs
* Body fat: 43.4%. Down 1%
* Waist: 108.5 cm. Up 1.5 cm
* Hips: 127 cm. Down 0.5 cm
* Thigh: 65 cm. No change
* Knee: 43 cm. Down 1 cm
* Calf: 40 cm. Down 0.5 cm
* Bicep: 39 cm. Down 0.5 cm

My waist measurements are all over the place. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to breathing in or breathing out, but really should make up my mind and do it consistently (I have been breathing out, or at least trying to).

I am not too bothered about being up 0.8 lbs on last week as I am absolutely delighted to see my body fat back in the 43% range. Well, in relative terms at least. Small changes practically everywhere else, and down a clothing size. What’s not to like?

Do Natural Supplements Absorb Better With Fruit Juice Or Water Or Does It Matter?

July 24th, 2009 admin Posted in Weight Loss | No Comments »

Someone said fruit juice would because of the sugar. Is that true?
My mistake, I meant herbal supplements like ginseng for example.

What do you mean by natural supplements?

A multivitamin is best with a meal with some fat, many vitamins cannot be absorbed at all without fat. (olive oil for example)

Losing Weight Daily

July 22nd, 2009 admin Posted in Lose Weight Daily | No Comments »

I’m pretty sure I gained all the weight back since getting back to work and traveling. No exercise and eating out for almost every meal makes Alison a fat girl. Well, I’m getting back to it this week. Work is providing my exercise for now. I got a job at a new company so I no longer work with my boyfriend. Therefore, I will also be more in control of my own eating. I’m also going to be getting back to a more vegan lifestyle. Cheese has slowly been creeping its way back into my diet. I even had a glass of milk, which I haven’t done in years.
I left my scale at my boyfriend’s grandparents’ house when we were out visiting them so I’m going to take this time to just work at it without worrying about the numbers. When I get it back or break down and buy a new one hopefully I’ll see a number that is closer to 170 than 180. If I don’t have it back by my birthday, I’m going to buy myself one of those fancy ones with the BMI and water weight sensors as a gift to myself.
My motivation is really high right now and I hope the 4th of July isn’t too big of a road block.

If you will losing Weight, can you share ?  tell me : kafeier@gamil.com thanks.

Belly Fat Is Something That Can Throw You Off Your Stride

July 20th, 2009 admin Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Losing weight in your stomach area is known to be difficult, and even if you see your fat shrinking in other areas, the fat around your stomach may hang around a little longer! By simply following a few instructions you will be able to lose that persistent belly fat.

Try to remember to be patient. That bulge around your middle happens due to your body’s need to store excess fat. If you are trying to lose weight, and this is true for men, what seems like the last thing to go is the fat around the belly!

Remember too, that not everyone loses weight at the same rate. Some people start at the extremities, while other people start at the hips and thighs. If you are losing weight everywhere except in your stomach area, don’t get stressed out – just keep doing what you’re doing.

Be mindful of what you eat. That is the very first step in establishing eating habits that will help you shed your belly fat. Late night snacking is one way to make your belly swell, particularly if you make a habit of it. During the day you can process your food easily because your up and moving but, eating before bed will not have the same result. Do not eat anything two hours prior to bedtime.

If you are looking to lose belly fat, cut down on the alcohol. While alcohol has a fair amount of calories in it, the problem is that there are no nutrients to alcohol at all. Nearly all the calories that you consume from drinking alcohol will be stored as fat.

When you are looking to get rid of belly fat, make sure that you are eating a relatively balanced diet. That means that you are getting a roughly equal proportion of lean proteins, healthy fats and good fiber. One hint that will keep you eating healthily is to stop and make sure that you are eating colorfully. Take the time to think about the fruits and vegetables that you eat and to see what you can do to vary your diet.

Remember that when you want to lose belly fat that you have to exercise. Take the time to exercise as regularly as you can. Make sure that you vary your exercise and that you are not simply doing the same routine over and over again. If your body gets used to a routine, you will find that it is a lot less effective.

Stubborn belly fat can be conquered by many means as long as you make a long-term commitment in order to see results.

The Simplest And Most Effective Way To Change Behaviour For Lose Weight

July 18th, 2009 admin Posted in Weight Loss Tips | No Comments »

Why is the obesity crisis seemingly out of control? What is driving more and more people to become overweight or obese? Of course it’s about eating and lifestyle habits. We are all individually responsible for what we put in our mouths and how much exercise we take, but there is a new dimension.  Obesity has become socially contagious. The main driver of obesity is a social one.

What has happened is that being overweight or obese has become a new social norm. It is now perfectly acceptable to be overweight or obese. It is not seen as being out of the ordinary or different. If you are overweight or obese you are more than likely to have overweight or obese friends. You mix with people who don’t threaten or criticise you. You feel comfortable in their company. In fact friends have the greatest influence on body weight. You are nearly 60% more likely to be overweight or obese if you have overweight or obese friends.

The discovery, or realisation of this new dimension actually offers some amazing opportunities that could transform the way we tackle the obesity crisis. The basis for this optimism is that if obesity is socially contagious, then being slim can be socially contagious too. It has become a social problem that has a social solution.

Up until now all weight loss programs have been directed at the individual. They have all been singularly unsuccessful at delivering permanent weight loss. At best they have delivered short-term weight loss, but the weight comes back again in over 95% of cases. The main reason for this is that they have not been directed at the one thing that can deliver permanent weight loss, and that is behaviour change.

The simplest and most effective way to change behaviour is to learn new habits, slim habits. By modifying small behaviours (habits), complex behaviours can be changed. This is the method that is used in the Slim Habit behaviour change program, which also offers a very important ingredient - support. The social solution to the obesity problem lies in the community. Why? Because it can offer unparalleled support. By mobilising and organising overweight or obese people within a community into groups, and giving them supervision, education, advice - and a good behaviour change programme, you can use the power of community to be the driver of change. Do this and you have the means to end the obesity crisis.

Fast Food Nutrition Can Be Included In Your Good Eating Plan

July 16th, 2009 admin Posted in diet plan | No Comments »

Fast food nutrition may sound unlikely, but it is true some fast food menu items can adequate amounts of the nutrients your body needs. However, you should limit your fast food nutrition to only once or maybe even twice per week. The rest of your nutrition should come from whole, natural foods, such as those that are found around the outside aisles of your local supermarket. If you are tight on time or need a want a little treat, you can slip through the drive-thru and stick to great fast food nutrition, as long as you have studied your food nutrition facts.

Only Occasionally

Fast food nutrition should only be eaten once per week, if that. Sometimes, you can’t help but go to your local fast food restaurant. For example, there may be a day you don’t have much time for your lunch and the only fast option is to rush through the drive-thru. Or, let’s say that you’ve done really well on your nutritious eating all week long and you are deciding to treat yourself; for these types of cases, fast food nutrition is OK.

Smart Decisions

You can eat fast food without totally blowing your diet. Healthy fast food nutrition decisions can be made if you are aware of your food nutrition facts. That means you know the difference between whole, more natural foods from the processed ones that do little for your body. Most fast food chains have healthier menu items for people who are trying to lose weight or stay healthy. Many of these restaurants have fruit choices, non-fried chicken breasts, salads and more. When choosing these types of items, keep condiments and dressings to a minimum, as these can quickly add more calories than you should be eating in one sitting.

Fast food nutrition can be included in your good eating plan, you just have to be smart about it, study up on your nutrition facts, and make sure you limit your fast food eating to only one or two times per week. If you combine this way of eating with an exercise routine you will get your body in great shape. Whether you’re trying to lose weight, maintain your weight or you’re trying to gain weight, fast food nutrition can help you get there, you just have to be selective about the menu items you choose.
